Blanke Permat Tile Flooring Underlayment is an innovative uncoupling underlayment that offers all the labor saving benefits of the old plastic tile underlayment roll systems. Blanke Permat is extremely strong, and is 1/8" thick. Because it is 1/8" thick, Blanke Permat also adds support to wood substrates, thereby reducing deflection and providing greater compression and tensile strength than plastic tile underlayment roll products. Permat is stable to walk on during installation. Installation is easy as sheets should be butted up, one after another. The installation can be completed using a modified thinset mortar.
Benefits:
- Strengthens wood substrates
- Reduces vertical subfloor movement (deflection)
- Superior compressive strength
- Superior tensile strength
- Crack isolation properties (uncoupling)
- Superior resistance to delamination during installation
- No extended cure time for latex modified thinset mortars under porcelain tile
- Lightweight and easy to install
- Self-seaming panels prevent substrate movement stress from transmitting to tiled surface
- 1/8" thick
- Permanent Support of high quality floorings - ex: stone, marble
Permat Tile Underlayment is available by the sheet and by the carton on Tileprotection.com.

The latest news of the testing done to the Blanke Securmat Tile Floor Underlayment Membrane. The Tile Consul of North America (TCNA) performed the Robinson Floor Test for SECURMAT over one layer of 3/4" plywood on 19.2" o.c. spaced joists. The SECURMAT was rated EXTRA HEAVY, the second highest rating.
What does this mean?
This means that Blanke Securmat works, and it works real well. Again, when you're dealing with 19.2" on center spaced joists and 3/4" plywood, you can expect movement. SECURMAT is placed in between the plywood and tile floor assembly in order to protect it from vertical and horizontal movement. SECURMAT is an uncoupling membrane that is meant to break away from a subfloor with extreme movement in order to protect the tile assembly. What happens if you have a lot of movement and nothing to protect the tile assembly? Tiles move causing the grout spacing to fail and crack leaving your floor looking terrible. A tear out has to be done and then you're left doing the job all over again because it wasn't done properly in the first place.

It also adds support and strengthens wood substrates. It also provides greater compression and tensile strength than plastic tile underlayment roll products. Blanke PERMAT is stable to walk on during installation and does not require additional curing time when installing porcelain with latex modified thinset.
Permat has a 10-year warranty against damage caused by excessive vertical sub-floor movement (deflection), the only such warranty in the industry. Whether installing stone on wood or cement subfloors, homeowners who include Permat in their stone and tile installations can be rest assured that their subfloors will indeed support the installation.
Blanke Permat is available both by the sheet and by the carton.

Durock is a tile membrane that is installed underneath a tile assembly in light commercial and residential applications. It's mold and mildew resistant, which makes this membrane ideal for installations under tile in bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and entry ways. Installation of Durock Tile Underlayment is easy.
Simply cut the membrane with a knife or a pair of scissors. Durock also acts as a crack isolation membrane if it is installed using the Durock Tile Membrane Adhesive. If crack isolation isn't needed then Durock can be installed using a Type 1 Organic Adhesive or a latex modified thinset mortar.
Tile Flooring Underlayment Kit Includes:
- 75 Square foot roll of Membrane
- 2 (1 qt) containers of Adhesive
- Instruction Sheet
